CNC Milling:
Complex geometries with reliable reproducibility
In addition to CNC turning and wire EDM, CNC milling is one of Innomatix's core competencies. From our facility in Lierde, we mill precision components for machine builders, industrial OEMs, and other high-tech companies.

With modern 3- and 5-axis milling machines, integrated mill-turn centers, and a digital workflow, we deliver complex geometries, tight tolerances, and short lead times—from prototypes to series production.
Our capabilities in 3- and 5-axis CNC milling

Materials we mill
At Innomatix, we mill a broad range of materials:

Why CNC milling at Innomatix?
Modern 3- and 5-axis milling machines
Our machine park includes:
- 3-axis milling machines for flat work, simple contours and series production
- 5-axis machining centers for complex 3D geometries and parts fully machined in one setup
- Integrated mill-turn machines, allowing us to combine milling and turning in a single setup
This means fewer setups, higher accuracy and a more efficient lead time.
Digital preparation with CAD/CAM
Every milling operation starts digitally. We work with:
- CAD/CAM software for programming 2D and 3D contours
- Virtual simulation of tool paths before the first chips are made
- Fixed tool libraries and cutting strategies for repeatability
This reduces the risk of errors, shortens setup times and gives you a stable process that is easy to reproduce for future batches.
Co-engineering: thinking along in design and cost
Innomatix is more than a supplier. Our engineers actively think along about:
- Optimizing 3D models for machining
- Smart selection of clamping surfaces and references
- Tolerance strategy and material choice
This lowers the total cost per part without compromising functionality or lifetime.
Quality and process control
Complex milled parts require strict quality control. We focus on, among others:
- Interim measurements during production
- Final inspection with suitable measuring equipment
- Documentation of critical dimensions and process parameters
Where needed, we provide measurement reports or release protocols aligned with your industry.

Frequently asked questions about CNC milling at Innomatix
What’s the difference between CNC milling and CNC turning?
In CNC milling, the tool rotates and the workpiece remains stationary or moves along multiple axes. This is ideal for flat and complex 3D parts.
In CNC turning, the workpiece rotates and the tool remains stationary—perfect for round and cylindrical parts.
Innomatix offers both techniques and selects the most efficient combination per part.
Can Innomatix also do 5-axis milling?
Yes. Innomatix has 5-axis milling capacity, allowing us to machine multiple faces and complex geometries in a single setup. This increases accuracy and shortens lead times, especially for more complex parts.
Does Innomatix make both prototypes and series?
Absolutely. We mill:
- Single pieces and prototypes, for example during a development phase
- Small series for test setups or limited production runs
- Medium-sized series for recurring components in machines or installations
Thanks to our digital approach, we can switch quickly between different parts.
What information does Innomatix need to prepare a quote for CNC milling?
Voor een gerichte offerte ontvangen wij bij voorkeur:
- 2D drawing and/or 3D model
- Materiaalspecificaties
- Vereiste toleranties en afwerking
- Aantallen (proefbatch en, indien van toepassing, jaarvolume)
- Eventuele certificeringen of branche-eisen
Hoe vollediger uw input, hoe sneller wij een realistische prijs en levertijd kunnen bieden.
Can Innomatix handle full projects, combining both turning and milling?
For a targeted quotation, we prefer to receive:
• 2D drawing and/or 3D model
• Material specifications
• Required tolerances and finishing
• Quantities (trial batch and, if applicable, annual volume)
• Any certification or industry requirements
The more complete your input, the faster we can provide a realistic price and lead time.
